WWE Elimination Chamber Toronto 2025 Review

Women's Elimination Chamber - Liv Morgan vs Alexa Bliss vs Roxanne Perez vs Bayley vs Naomi vs Bianca Belair

I guess we know why Jade Cargill didn't return at the Rumble now, her taking out Naomi and trash talking Bianca. That insanity aside, this match was an okay chamber. Good action from everyone, but nothing too mind-blowing, which is kind of a shame. Wish anyone other than Bianca won (because she always wins), but her versus Rhea or Iyo at WrestleMania is bound to be a great match.

★★★½

Tiffany Straton and Trish Stratus vs Nia Jax and Candice LaRae

A fine match, but one that felt like it was going on for way too long, with a lot of meandering. The women really got the short end of the stick for this PPV. I did like that Tiffany got the pin on Nia to close the book on them before her WrestleMania match with Charlotte, but this match was just OK.

★★★

Unsanctioned Match - Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens

Match of the night, in my opinion. I don't know why I wasn't expecting much with this match, but the story these two told throughout was spectacular. Probably one of the most insanely brutal matches put on by WWE in recent memory, second only to Punk vs McIntyre at Hell in a Cell. At moments, I thought Kevin was actually going to kill Sami. Randy Orton returning at the end was a good surprise, and sets up for KO vs Orton at WrestleMania perfectly.

★★★★★

Men's Elimination Chamber - CM Punk vs John Cena vs Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest vs Seth Freakin' Rollins vs Logan Paul

Almost a perfect as an Elimination Chamber can be. Everything with Logan Paul, I must say, felt superfluous and added nothing to the match. Other than that, this match did a great job of building up multiple matches for WrestleMania. Drew is definitely going to want revenge on Damian Priest for that roll up. While I did want Punk to win, I've got to admit, Rollins yelling "DIE!" as Cena had him in an STF gave me chills. That'll probably lead to a triple threat match at WrestleMania between Punk, Rollins, and Reigns. I will say more about Cena winning in the closing segment.

★★★★½

Will Cody Rhodes Sell His Soul to The Rock?

For the past couple of SmackDown's, I was just not feeling these Rock segments, with him meandering back and forth in his promos without getting to the point. Then this segment comes around and subverts all my expectations. For one, I was not expecting Cody to drop a full-on uncensored f-bomb in a WWE show, but even more unexpectedly, JOHN CENA TURNED HEEL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 21 YEARS. At first, I thought the idea of him going after the World title was a bad one since he is a part timer on his last running year, but this segment made that booking decision all the more palatable. This is the biggest heel turn of the century, and I'm really intrigued how this'll play out on TV.

PPV Grade:

Match Quality: 80/100
Show Structure: 91/100
Atmosphere: 70/100
Story: 80/100
Production: 79/100

Overall: B- (80/100)

While the women's matches were a bit of a let down, aside from the Jade Cargill, the latter half of the PPV really picked things up. The Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn match especially was a highlight of this PPV. The John Cena heel turn was definitely unexpected, and will lead to a pretty interesting WrestleMania main event.
